Chase Christopher grew up on a farm near Battleground, Washington with a view of Mount St. Helens, and has been drawn to mountains ever since. Several years fighting wildland fires across the West and Alaska solidified his passion for the outdoors and physical challenge, which eventually led to him moving to Boise, Idaho, to take a job as a full-time municipal fireman. The backcountry of Idaho was the perfect subject for his hobby of photography, and he soon started to catch the attention of the local outdoors industry with his work. 

As his off-duty adventures mtn biking, mountaineering, skiing, and photographing the adventures of others led to longer road trips and higher fuel bills, he switched from driving a lifted Tacoma to a Subaru Outback. This practical decision, and the natural progression to sleeping in the back of that Subaru, formed the beginning of the idea that became Road to Ridge.

He has since met his (now) wife Sadie, an Idaho local with an equally strong love of the outdoors, and with her adventures around the northwest and the world. Biking, climbing, skiing, hiking, hunting, and camping are just a few of the activities of choice. We also recently added a pup into the mix, Meru!
